In the world of sports, muscle wear and tear are common issues. Athletes, sports medicine professionals, and coaches often consider recovery massage therapy to be highly beneficial in treating these problems. Beyond sports, massage therapy is also used to relieve joint pain, back pain, neck pain, and muscle sprains and strains.

Recovery massage therapy involves using specific techniques to rub your muscles and joints while exerting controlled pressure. Our trained masseurs use their palms and fingers to massage your skin with specialized strokes and patterns. The strokes and pressure applied depend on the condition, extent of injury, and the client's goals. Recovery massage techniques are designed to address the recovery needs of individuals from sports injuries, physical exertion, and certain muscle or soft tissue ailments. Typically, recovery massage therapy is administered soon after an exercise session, sports event, or injury.

What is Recovery Massage Therapy?

Sports Massage Therapy

Sports massage therapy is ideal for clients seeking the management and prevention of sports injuries. We tailor sports massage based on the extent of your injury, the sports you engage in, and your recovery goals. During the session, our therapist will target the muscles you use most during sports activities.

Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

During deep tissue massage therapy, our trained therapists target trigger points or painful knots in your muscles and deeper tissues. This technique involves using significant force, deep finger pressure, and slow strokes.

Remedial Massage Therapy

Remedial massage therapy goes beyond injury prevention by improving mobility and performance through rehabilitating muscle movements or patterns. It combines deep tissue massage, stretching, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.

Recovery Massage Services Offered at I-Span

How is our Recovery Massage Different from SPA Massage?

At I-Span, our massage therapy focuses primarily on recovery massage. This should not be mistaken for spa massage. Through our therapy, we aim to help clients recover from injuries to the muscles, bones, or connective tissues. Additionally, we treat chronic pain conditions, thereby improving the quality of life for our clients.

Spa massage, on the other hand, is a luxurious and personalized service offered at various spa salons. It is not intended for the treatment of or recovery from injuries or medical conditions. The sole aim of spa massage is relaxation and pampering of the body.

In contrast, the recovery massage offered at I-Span has more serious and therapeutic goals than spa massage.
